Ravenscroft (2010)

“I am the voice of authority.  I am the dead Queen’s left buttock.  Rule Britannia.”
(a very drunk) Inspector Ruffing, from Don Nigro’s ‘Ravenscroft’

Produced and acted by the Elon University BFA Acting Seniors of 2011, Ravenscroft was performed on November 18-20, 2011 in the Black Box Theatre at Elon University.

In a parody of Agatha Christie and Alfred Hitchcock murder mysteries, Don Nigro presents the story of an isolated British manor at the turn of the 20th century, occupied solely by women.  The two men in the house have mysteriously been found dead at the foot of a rather prominent main staircase, and it is up to the London detective, Inspector Ruffing, to get to the bottom of things.  But what occurs within the eery manor couldn’t be farther from his wildest imaginings, and the truth just might have a touch more fatality at the end of those steps…
